About TABLE

History

The TABLE project is a three-year Office of Head Start Innovation and Improvement grant that was awarded to Community Development Institute from September 30, 2008 to September 29, 2011. CDI is a federal contractor that works with Head Start programs nationwide. CDI developed the CACFP recordkeeping system after listening to the programs they work with and seeing common needs with the Head Start and Early Head Start programs across the country. Some of the common needs were:

  1. A routine way of organizing the huge amount of paperwork involved with CACFP.
  2. A clear understanding of the CACFP requirements and how to integrate them with Head Start requirements.

Once the new system was implemented, programs organized the large amount of CACFP paperwork more easily — leading to an increase of time given to the finer details of Head Start nutrition.

The recordkeeping system has also been recognized by various State CACFP offices as being incredibly efficient and meeting the requirements for CACFP reviews.
